We designed the new Targus 360°Rotating Stand for the iPad2. It allows the user to easily rotate the iPad from portrait to landscape mode without removing it from the case, and the rotating grommet shows off that beautiful bitten apple. Check it out the details on the Targus website here.

Steven Holl is an amazing American architect who gave an inspiring lecture at SCI-ARC last night. His work is grounded in stories and concepts, sometimes simple and sometimes complicated, but always a concept that drives right through to the end. My favorite was his Surf Museum in Biarritz, France. It was partly inspired by skateboarding, specifically dogtown. It even has a floating drained pool that’s actually skate-able! Check out that project and others on his site.

It’s been quite a year! We’re going to wrap it up with a move into a giant new building we will be share with an architect, a guitar builder, a photographer, and a furniture designer. It’s going to be something like Warhol’s Factory but without the amphetamines. We’re still building it out, but stay tuned for photos when it’s put together. Our phone and fax will be the same, only the address will change. Starting Jan 1, our new address will be.

The thing I personally will miss the most about our previous location, is the high tech hotel across the street that beckons tech savvy travelers with that modern marvel - the telephone.

My friend Wes has had this phone since cell phones were still phones.
The screen is cracked, it displays 4 lines of dot matrix text, can only be recharged in the car, and is branded Cingular. I’m always more excited to see this phone still working than I am to see any new iphone or droid. Every time I see him, I ask how the phone is doing, as if it’s an elderly family member I need to check up on. It’s strange (good and bad) how products can stir up emotions within people. It’s not even about design. People project personalities onto everything they interact with.
